Welcome to the website for the first New School for Social Research Philosophy Department PhD alumni conference. The department is pleased to be hosting the conference on May 3rd and 4th, 2014.

The conference features talks by seven PhD graduates of the department. Topics include Fichte ‘s concept of right, pragmatism in political philosophy, virtue ethics in early Chinese philosophy, naming and color, the connection between intersubjective liability and corporeality, deconstruction as a form of consumerism, and the theory of objectivity.

This website contains the conference schedule, directions, and the abstracts for the talks. In addition, the speakers have provided previously-published samples of their research, which can be found beneath the authors’ abstracts.
